Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (Terms) govern your use of BetterCtrlV, the Windows app, and the pages at forumcore.ai/betterctrlv (together, the Product).
BetterCtrlV is operated by Petr Jaroch, a natural person entrepreneur under Czech law, trading as ForumCore (we, us, or our). IČO: 03330389. Registered place of business: Jeníkovice 2, 535 01 Přelouč, Czech Republic. Public registers: ARES / živnostenský rejstřík. Contact: contact@forumcore.ai.
By installing or using BetterCtrlV, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not install or use the Product.
1. Acceptance and eligibility
To use the Product you must be at least 18 years old (or the age of majority where you live, if higher). If you are under 18 but at least 13, you may use it only with a parent or legal guardian who agrees to these Terms on your behalf. The Product is not for children under 13.
Your use of the Product means you accept these Terms and the Privacy Policy. We may update them from time to time. The Last updated date will change. Continued use after a material change means you accept the updated Terms, except where the law requires a different process.
2. The Product
BetterCtrlV is a Windows utility that keeps a local ledger of what you copy and cut, and lets you paste from that ledger with keyboard chords. Copy and cut share one ledger. Cut also removes the original in the app you cut from, as Windows already does.
A short hold of Ctrl+V shows recent items. Numbers 1–9 select an older copy. S and D move through the list. K removes the highlighted line. Holding L clears the list and the live clipboard. Letting go of Ctrl pastes the highlighted item. A normal tap of Ctrl+V still pastes the newest clipboard item.
The ledger is stored only on your PC. BetterCtrlV does not upload clipboard contents. It uses a keyboard hook so the chords work. It does not record ordinary typing. It cannot see keys in elevated windows. Some games and exclusive-input apps may ignore the hook. Do not use BetterCtrlV where a keyboard hook is forbidden.
We may change, suspend, or discontinue features when needed for operations, security, or product direction. We do not guarantee that BetterCtrlV will work in every Windows app or after every Windows update.
3. License
BetterCtrlV does not use a ForumCore account. Purchase is through the Microsoft Store. The license is tied to your Microsoft account and may be used on PCs where you are signed in with that account, subject to Microsoft Store rules.
Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use BetterCtrlV for your own lawful purposes. You may not sell, rent, or sublicense the app, or reverse-engineer it except where mandatory law allows.
Microsoft, Windows, and the Microsoft Store are governed by Microsoft’s own terms. We are not Microsoft.
4. Acceptable use
You may use BetterCtrlV for lawful work on your own PC, subject to these Terms and applicable law.
You must not:
- use BetterCtrlV to break the law or to infringe others’ rights;
- use it where a keyboard hook or clipboard capture is forbidden (including some workplaces and secured systems);
- attempt to bypass the trial or paid license;
- redistribute, resell, or impersonate ForumCore or BetterCtrlV;
- use the Product to distribute malware.
We may refuse support or future updates if we reasonably believe these rules are broken.
5. Your content
You keep ownership of whatever you copy, cut, or paste. That content stays on your PC in BetterCtrlV’s local ledger. You confirm you have the rights needed to store it there.
We do not receive your ledger. We do not claim a license to your clipboard contents. Optional feedback you send by email may be used to improve the product, without obligation to pay or credit you.
6. Intellectual property
BetterCtrlV software, branding, and documentation are owned by us or our licensors and protected by Czech, EU, and international law. These Terms do not transfer that ownership to you.
7. Trial, purchase, and withdrawal
BetterCtrlV is offered on the Microsoft Store with a 15-day trial, then a $3.99 one-time purchase unless the Store listing shows a different price in your market. Microsoft is the seller of record for that purchase. Refunds and chargebacks follow Microsoft Store policy.
During the trial, the full Product is available. After the trial, a normal Ctrl+V still pastes the newest clipboard item. Pasting older ledger items requires a completed purchase. Your local ledger is not deleted when the trial ends.
We operate as a Czech sole trader (OSVČ) not registered for VAT (neplátce DPH). Store checkout is run by Microsoft. If VAT must later be collected on our side, we will update these Terms.
EU/EEA consumers: 14-day withdrawal. You generally have a 14-day right of withdrawal for distance contracts. For digital content supplied immediately, that right may end if you expressly consent to early performance and acknowledge that you lose the withdrawal right, as presented in the Microsoft Store when required. If you still have a withdrawal right, use Microsoft Store refund tools, or email contact@forumcore.ai within 14 days so we can point you to the correct Store process. Eligible Store refunds go to the original payment method.
Mandatory consumer rights under Czech and EU law are not limited by these Terms.
8. Disclaimers and liability
BetterCtrlV is a convenience tool. It can miss copies, fail in some apps, or store items you did not mean to keep. You are responsible for what you copy and for locking your PC.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, the Product is provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of uninterrupted or error-free operation, or fitness for a particular purpose.
To the fullest extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses (including lost profits, data, or goodwill). Where liability can be limited, our aggregate liability for claims relating to BetterCtrlV is limited to the amount you paid for the Product (typically $3.99 or the Store price you paid). Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits liability that cannot be excluded under Czech or EU consumer law (including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or fraud).
9. Termination
You may stop using BetterCtrlV at any time by uninstalling it. Uninstall does not automatically delete the local ledger folder. We may stop offering the Product or Store updates. Provisions that by nature should survive (including IP, disclaimers, liability limits where lawful, and governing law) continue after you stop using the Product.
10. Governing law and disputes
These Terms are governed by the laws of the Czech Republic, without conflict-of-law rules that would point elsewhere. Mandatory EU and Czech consumer protections still apply where they cannot be waived.
Subject to those rights, courts in Prague, Czech Republic have jurisdiction, unless mandatory law lets you bring a claim in your country of residence.

Out-of-court consumer dispute resolution (ADR). Under Czech consumer law, the entity competent for out-of-court resolution of consumer disputes arising from the Product is the Czech Trade Inspection Authority (Česká obchodní inspekce, ČOI), Štěpánská 567/15, 120 00 Prague 2, Czech Republic, website: www.coi.cz. You may submit a proposal after trying to resolve the matter with us directly. The former EU Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform has been discontinued and is no longer available.
Where permitted by law and not applicable to consumers with mandatory protections, disputes must be brought on an individual basis.
11. Changes
We may amend these Terms to reflect legal, operational, or product changes. We will post the new version on this page with an updated date. For significant changes affecting your rights, we will take reasonable steps to notify you (for example on this website).
